My personal birthing experience was exciting, even though it was so long ago, I remember giving birth to my daughter and my son. My daughter was my first birthing experience, I was a little scared and excited at the same time. I can remember the nurses and the doctor being very nice and making sure that I was comfortable. I went over my due date, so the doctors had been concerned that she was going to be 10lbs or more. I went through eight hours of labor with limited pushing before my beautiful baby girl arrived weighing at 9lbs and 11oz.
As i researched about other regins and how births happen, I was in total shock to see how the people are treated in some of the other countries. In China, the people expect to have boys so much that it even sounds like when you give birth it means you are having a boy. Chinese believe that if you eat dumplings, sunflower or watermelon seeds that you will have a boy. Also in China there is no privacy, all ob-gyns are all women doctors, no men allowed ( not even in the labor and delivery room). In Thailand it is similiar to the United States. In Napel men are not allowed, there is no nursery because they believe that babies belong with their mothers at all times, and to promote better flow of milk, the people of Napel rely on oil massages over the breast. In Argentina you must know the sex of your baby because you ned to know the name for him or her when born, parents are responsible for records and taking all records to check-ups, and after the birth of the baby, the babies' head are shaved, so that thick hair will grow out ( Care the World, 2011).

It must be amazing to have kids and remember after so long thanks for sharing your birthing experience. You also enlighted me on some new information about Thailand and the people of Napel.
ReplyDeleteWOW! You delivered some big babies. Having a premature baby at birth compared to yours you had baby giants!(just joking). I hope that i am able to remember my child delivery years down the road as well.
